geo.admin.ch provides the basis geo.admin.ch makes its extremely comprehensive map material available on the Internet. Over 193,000 place and field names are recorded and the maps also offer a hiking route network of around 70,000 kilometers. Almost twice around the world. Brilliant!
The hiking routes are divided into colors according to hiking trails (yellow), mountain hiking trails (red) and alpine trails (blue) and can be saved as a PDF and printed out in A4 or A3 format for the hike.
The magnification function allows the view to be varied between sizes 1:1000 and 1:1,500,000. Towns, mountain huts, rivers, lakes and much more are found using the search function and displayed centered.
According to geo.admin, the maps are constantly being expanded and, in addition to watercourses and even ibex colonies, other details will soon be found.
